House OKs doubling of fines for drivers who pass stopped school buses

Drivers who don’t stop for school buses could see a doubling in ticket fines under a proposed state law that passed the House on Thursday. House Bill 1873, sponsored by GOP Rep. Darren Bailey of Xenia, doubles the fine for first offenses to $300 from $150, and for second offenses to $1,000 from $500.
